More Changes….
My blog is a work in progress….as you can see! I’ve just updated the header with a more personalized one. What do you think? Is it too ….. I don’t know……. girly? Does it fit my topic of personal finance / future home buyer / bicycle riding hippie chick? I don’t necessarily consider myself a hippie chick, but I wonder if this is going too much in that direction. I like the color scheme and I’m pleased with the header. Would love feedback!
Maybe I need to add dollar bills in place of white flowers? Any suggestions welcome. ![]()

It’s cute, though I was kind of attached to other one with the sweeping view of the valley. I think you should go with what you like, it’s YOUR blog.

I like it! I think exchanging the white flowers for dollar signs would be cute.

@Susan Tiner – Thanks for your input and the point that it’s really what I like! I think I like this new header, but I’m sure I’ll be making a few tweaks before I call it done!
@Sherry – Thanks so much for your input. I agree with you on the dollars. I think that would be a nice touch.
I like it — I’ve been working on my blog design/header, too, shhh!
I like it!
How did you design it? it’s really nice. I agree that the little dollar signs (in white) would be cute too.
PS I love riding my bicycle- just got it recently- best thing since sliced bread!

I dig it. Can you add a little house to it maybe? Perhaps with some rain collecting whiskey barrels outside
I LOVE it.
Did you do it yourself? I’m getting a redesign done and it’s been such a difficult process transferring my ideas into the illustrator’s head.
Let me know, thanks!

Yes to the little house icon like Ryan suggested! The header is very bright and fresh looking – I like that.
@Young and Thrifty – Thank you. Yes I designed it, but I took inspiration from a few stock illustrations I found on line. I’m glad to hear you love your bike too! It’s the best.
@Ryan – I love that idea! Now I just have to find an illustration of a house I can modify or trace and add the barrels.
@Austin – I did do it myself, but I took some ideas from stock illustration and combined it with items I drew and items I traced. Maybe if you could find elements of your design online and show your designer, that might help. A good place to start is stock image sites like istockphoto.com. Hope this is helpful!
@Well Heeled Blog – Thanks! I still have some tweaking to do, and I too like Ryan’s idea.
@Austin
Austin – I’ve done a couple of redesigns..best way is to actually spend a couple of hours and sit down with your designer while he does his photoshop thing..that way, it saves time (and hopefully money) and you are more likely to get the results that you want.
The new design looks great! Evolution is the key to success in blogs and really all types of businesses. Keep up the great work!
@Mike@MoneyLounge.net – Thanks for the comment. I totally agree with your evolution comment too!
@Susan Tiner
Agreed. Liked the old photo, but its your site!

I’m with the others, I love the new header (trying to come up with a new one for my blog, too) but my first thought was where’s the teeny-tiny house!? Looks great! I’ve also joined the Yakezie challenge (how in the world is that pronounced?!) announced today on my blog.
@Mrs. Accountability – That’s great to hear you joined the challenge too! I’ll be sure to add you to my Yakezie page. I’m not real sure about the pronunciation either, I think it is (ya – KE – zee) not 100 on this though. Also, thanks for the compliment on my header, it is still a work in progress.
