@Financial Samurai- The views from the top of Half Dome are amazing. I would definitely recommend going in the summer! Especially since you are so close!

Sounds good! Half dome.. haven't tried it yet, but maybe i should. Just a 3.5 hour drive or so away from San Fran!

@Bucksome Boomer - It freaked me out too when I first saw the climb. But when I saw kids climbing up and down it, I decided I could do it too. It wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it was going to be. As for your Sunday runs, that's very smart. It's too bad I don't drink hot coffee, if I did, I could probably get my Starbucks down to a couple times a week!

That picture freaks me out (I have a fear of heights). I'm so impressed you hiked (climbed) half dome.

I'm a Starbucks addict as well, but control the habit with home brewed beans during the week and Sunday runs for a latte.

@Financial Samurai - Thanks for your encouragement! As for the Grand Canyon, when I visited there last I camped at the Mather's Campground on the south side of the canyon (That's where most tourists visit - the north side is much less crowded.) I drove there, so I'm not really sure where the closest airport would be, I'm guessing maybe Flagstaff or Vegas. You could probably fly to Vegas and rent a car and drive to the Grand Canyon. If you are going to hike the canyon, you will probably want to plan to stay overnight at the bottom. Visit the ranger station and get an overnight pass. Hike down the Kaibab trail and up the Angel Bright Trail (Kaibab is a bunch of switch backs and it makes going down quicker, but don't go up it: too extreme!)

Great job increasing your credit score by 200 points! That is very inspirational and definitely a post in the making!

Tell me more about the Grand Canyon! I'm thinking of going on a week long trip in May. Where should we fly into, go, eat, sleep? Another post perhaps? Thnx!

Best, Sam
