The Lemming Effect

I’ve been battling bronchitis for the last two weeks and haven’t been my peppy self. Hopefully this new dose of antibiotics I’m taking will kick its butt. However, I’m still dragging myself into work….of course that might be my problem. But I overheard the most irresponsible comment today at lunch, and I just had to post on it. “Their accountant told them that everybody’s credit will be effected by the housing market since so many people are walking...

Unpacking Almost Finished!

I should preface this by saying, thanks to my husband. Without him, I’d still be inundated under piles of boxes! I had roughly budgeted how much money we’d spend on our move between the U-Haul trucks and the help we hired. I also budgeted in the deposit on our new place and weighed the expenses of the new rent with the savings in utility costs. What I hadn’t budgeted in was the cost of transferring the utilities and phone service. It had been so long since our last move, I had forgotten that transferring phone service would cost about twice the amount of a regular phone bill. I had also...

Count Down to Moving Day…

Posted by on Oct 30, 2010 in Blog, Home Affordability | 12 comments

As if I don’t have enough on my plate, our moving day is set for Monday with completion Wednesday of this coming week. I’m excited, of course, however I really don’t like moving. To clarify, I’m not moving into my “Little House in the Valley.” No, we’ve decided to continue renting for a few more years, but in a nicer neighborhood and in an apartment instead of the rental house we’ve been in for these past few years. Oh how I don’t like...
