It’s that time again; Christmas Eve! And though I’ll be traveling today with 3 separate Christmases already planned out when I arrive, I’m trying to stay positive and cheerful.
But, for those who appreciate a bit of sarcasm, take my poem with a grain of salt.
‘Twas the night before Christmas
and all through the house
was a flurry of activity
after a six hour drive
And I with my night cap
and CT with his pipe
had just moved into the living room
to take a quick nap
When all of a sudden,
bursting out from the tree
was a giant load of presents
right up to my knee
Loads upon loads of ribbons and bows
gleaming and glittering in neatly lined rows
I can’t say it added to the holiday cheer
I think I’ll sit back and have just one more beer.
Happy Holidays, everyone! Have a wonderful and safe weekend.
