Homeowners realize that maintaining a good paint job on the exterior of their home helps to maintain the value of their investment. However, advances in technology have made exterior paint jobs with conventional materials a thing of the past. Currently, there are a lot of available paints that are set to last for longer periods of time. Such products offers numerous benefits that paint simply cannot bring to the table. The aesthetic enhancement is just the beginning of the story. The final sheen is vibrant and crisp. It settles evenly and stays that way for years to come. Coming in a variety of 1,500 different shades, homeowners can now choose from a wide variety of brand that are durable and stylish at the same time.
Some paints even derive their strength from the ceramic components active in the compound. Once dry, the finish can withstand much more abuse than any conventional oil or plastic compound. Every application comes with a written warranty that puts the mind of the customer at ease. Customers do not have to take the word of the company regarding the extreme durability of their product.
The damage a home suffers from the elements over time is greatly reduced by putting these kinds of paints to work. A coat of this product waterproofs the home. It is resistant to saltwater corrosion and extreme winds as well. It resists mold, additional fungi growth, and it has received a Class A Fire rating. It may sound like this product is dangerous or unnatural. But these kind of paints are the complete opposite, however. Homeowners are doing their part for the environment by lowering the need to consume fossil fuels in order to have their homes painted year after year. Look for products that are non-toxic, low odor, nonflammable, and contain absolutely no VOCs (Volatile Organic Compound). Using this type of product saves homeowners money over time. In addition to drastically reducing the frequency between coatings, it also reduces the cost of bills for the home. The ceramic coating actually repels UV rays from the surface of the exterior. Less heat absorption equals lower cooling costs during summer months.
Getting started on increasing the value of your home is quite simple. While it may seem like a big expense upfront, the long-term savings make the decision an easy one. Home improvement loans can cover up your paint job expenses. In addition to that, you can take comfort in knowing that you are unlikely to ever have to paint the exterior again while you are in the home. Again, you can do the house paint job by yourself, but if you want to take the installation process very serious, a number of local paint dealers and workers are certified. They have undergone extensive training programs that allow them to do the best job possible.
The process begins with a simple inspection of the home’s exterior. A plan is developed that can allow installation to progress smoothly and efficiently. Once complete, the plan is put into action and the cleaning begins. Each surface to be coated is cleared of dirt and grime that will inhibit the effectiveness of the product. Any repairs that must be done are then completed, and all excess paint is removed. The technicians then secure and cover any windows or openings that may be damaged in the process. Following the masking, the primer is applied. The surface is then ready and the coating begins. Experts complete the valuable addition to your home with a final inspection followed by any detail work that may need to be done.
So get your brush ready and paint that house!
I hope our builder used the good stuff. I rather not worry about our paint for a long, long time. 🙂
@Crystal – The exterior of the house is definitely something you don’t want to have to think about for a long time. When I think of exterior, paint and roofing comes to mind; both of which can take quite a bit of time and be expensive!
