We’ve been in our house exactly two months and the interior is really shaping up nicely. Our front living area, which consists of the living room, den, dining room, and kitchen is pretty much finished in terms of decorating. There are a few details we’d like to complete down the road, like hanging a few more photos and maybe getting a throw rug or two, but for now we’re calling this section ‘DONE.’
*A recap: We purchased a Golden West Limited Edition manufactured house with a beachfront exterior in a mobile home community in the Los Angeles area. We’re butted up against the San Gabriel foothills.

A few notes about these photos: We purchased the laminate floors separately. They’re Mohawk Buttercream Hickory distintive planks. We upgraded the kitchen with granite countertops and Frigidaire gallery appliances. The interior is painted in blush with white trim and moulding. We also have coffered ceilings in the dining and living room.
We’re still working on back half and I’ll post more photos of that as the guest room and our bedroom come together. We are also thinking of painting the bathrooms and guest room a color other than blush that’s throughout the house.
Currently, we’re working on the landscaping, but that’s been slow-going. Our soil is really rocky since we sit at the base of a mountain. Every time we dig, we get more rocks, making it a tedious process. However, we think we’ll have it completed (the front at least) by early March – if our grass ever sprouts!
I’ll post more photos soon and an updated landscaping budget.
How long did it take for you to complete interior decorating after moving into a house? Has anyone encountered rocky soil when landscaping? I’m open to solutions!
