Okay, so I’m officially obsessed with Mason Jars and I blame Pinterest. The ideas I’ve found on Pinterest range from holiday gifts like cookie recipes and meals in a jar to soap dispensers, lanterns and chandeliers to name just a few ways to use these wonderful objects creatively. They can be used as gifts, wedding decorations, household decor, drinking glasses, etc. , etc. My all-time favorite is for large iced tea and iced coffee (Pioneer Woman has a great iced coffee recipe that recommends mason jars as the preferred way to serve the drink.)

Mason jars can also be turned into snow globes and mini-terrariums.

Additional ideas include vases for fresh-cut flowers, candle holders for table decor or for lighting a footpath, and center pieces. Some clever ideas for weddings include wrapping the jars with twine at base and inserting some pastel-colored roses in them; it gives it a vintage look.

Oh, and if you’re making mason jar gifts this holiday season, here’s a link to some printable labels for the tops and fronts of your jars.

So many ideas and so little time!

Lol, man this ain’t my thing, but my wife would love it! 🙂
These look awesome. I am definitely going to try the terrarium one.
Very cute!
Hey! I recognize that Cowboy Cookies pic from Pinterest! I just wish I had the time, energy and talent to carry out all the things I repin on Pinterest, lol. (Especially the snow globe and centerpiece ideas. So cute! )
@Michelle – It’s the time that always gets me! Thanks for commenting.
These are lots of fun! I like the wedding centerpiece vase. My favorite for the holidays is a Mason jar with some Epsom salts and a candle nestled into the “snow.” You can even tint a Mason jar an aqua color with Mod Podge & food coloring. Then add the snow & candle. So pretty!
Add another use: home-made buttermilk. We had some quart-sized jars not being used, and corrected the situation.
Pioneer Woman’s cookbook got picked for the year’s recipe challenge: 10 new recipes from it, and 10 from Marcella Hazan’s Essentials of Classic Italian Cooking.
@101Centavos – I’m not a cook, but I like browsing PW recipe ideas. Great addition to the mason jar list!
