Okay, so I decided to join in The Saved Quarter’s June’s Build Your Blog Month. So far, I’ve completed a few of the steps she listed as a guide to boosting readership, improving content, and networking. Here are my successes so far:

  • Participated in forums, commented on several sites (I’m usually pretty good about this), replied to my own comments, and remembered to tweet a few posts. I can still do better with remembering to tweet and like; I really am lagging behind the social networking craze.
  • I’m participating in the June Blog Swap. I’m excited that the topic was an easy one for me to write about. 😉 I now just have to ramp up my guest posting this month.
  • This past Saturday, I hosted a short Yakezie Carnival. I need to begin expanding this a bit and hitting at least 15 sites instead of 7. I’m working on it!

I still have work to do such as going through the steps to 31 days to build a better blog, posting more frequently, and getting serious about expanding my networking to sites I don’t visit as frequently. I seem to stick to the familiar. 😉

Are you participating in this month’s Build Your Blog?

Hmmm I will definitely have to give this a look. I’ve been trying to cross the elusive 200,000 Alexa mark for a few weeks now and I’m all about trying to build better relationships along the way. Thanks for the link. I’ll have to give it a look-see though we are expecting a child any day now, so hopefully there’s some wiggle room *lol*

    • @Money Beagle – Well congrats on the upcoming baby! I’m sure this month will be busy for you, but you might be able to squeeze in some of the actions for building up your blog. 😉

This was such a great idea! It got me out commenting on sites I don’t always go to!

    • @Robert – That’s exactly what I need; a push to comment on the unfamiliar! Hopefully, my schedule will allow me a little leeway and extra time. 😉

I love commenting on other sites, retweeting posts, but I”m terrible at participating in carnivals or forums.

Everything takes so much time :)’

You seem to be doing great so far!

    • @Young and Thrifty – That seems to be my problem too; limited time! I keep thinking that once I accomplish X then Y will fall into place. But I always seem to take on more than I can chew at any given time. For example, I was asked if I could teach a Shakespeare class. Of course I said, “Yes!” without knowing much about the content. Now I’m cramming and trying to develop summer curriculum for 3 classes. Ahhh!
