The following is a guest post brought to you by Forward UK.
Many people have old unwanted CDs around the home that they no longer wish to listen to. It is often difficult to know exactly what to do with old CDs. Most people simply throw them away without realizing that these CDs can actually be put to good use. There are websites such as musicmagpie that allow you to sell your old CDs. PC games that are no longer being played can also be donated. This is a great idea not only for generating some extra cash for the seller, but it can also be used to donate to charity directly through the website.
The CDs will be recycled and turned into useful items such as coat hangers and car headlights. It is easy to sign up for free and then check to see how much money will be paid for each CD and DVD. It works by allowing you to enter the barcode of the items and then the price that you can expect to be paid will be displayed. There are several ways to send in the items and they are all free. The method that you choose to send them is up to you. Sending in the CDs to be recycled has a very positive impact on the environment. Landfills are full of items that could easily be recycled and put to good use.
Now that mp3 players are so prevalent, many people find that the CDs and DVDs they have around the home are becoming redundant. A lot of individuals no longer listen to their music through a traditional stereo system. These systems are quite bulky and not very portable. Listening to music on iPods and other mp3 devices is now so popular, that entire sound systems have been developed for them. These systems are light and portable and have the big sound expected from traditional stereo systems. Many CDs will be clogging up the landfills in the near future when they could have been used in a much more beneficial way.
There are a lot of second-hand stores that have numerous CDs and DVDs for sale at very inexpensive prices. It might be possible to purchase some to see if the cash received on the website is more than the cost in the store. If this is the case, it is quite feasible to generate a healthy income on the side. This idea can be put to use if you would like to donate your CDs and DVDs for charity. There are several worthwhile charities associated with this website. The concept is the same. You find out how much your items are worth and then instead of getting cash for them you simply donate them to the charity affiliated with this website instead. The process is fast and easy and it feels good to know that these unused items are going to such a worthy cause.
Donating to charity and getting rid of things that are cluttering up the home at the same time is indeed the best of both worlds. Charities depend on people’s generosity to survive. Making a contribution by using this system is so easy and allows the contributor to choose from one or more of the many charities that are associated with this website. There are charities to help children, animals and breast cancer, among several others. If you have friends that are passionate about giving back by donating to charities it might be worthwhile to mention this website to them. Anyone associated with one or more of the featured charities may find it beneficial to hold a CD collection drive and then donate the collected items directly through the website.

I always donate my unused stuff to charity. There is an organization not far from my house that helps out low income families, immigrants, and refugees. I have been taking stuff there for the last year. My hubby and I are working on our next donation right now while we clean out our office and storage room.
My husband and I do not own much stuff that we can sell or donate but we always encourage our kids to donate old toys and books every Christmas season to their preferred charity.
