This week has been quite the roller coaster. First, my bike was stolen (a post unto itself very soon). Then, as it turns out I’m not going to get to keep my “comfy chair” job after all. Since disasters and unusual events usually come in “three’s” I’m waiting for the last ball to drop. But there is irony in these two events coinciding within a few days of each other. Just keep reading….

Yet, things work out in the most peculiar way. Just last week I had to make a difficult decision; do I stay in my current position or take on a new one? I picked the first choice – stay where I am since it appeared more stable and I had thought my future looked brighter.

Well through a series of twists and turns and budget cuts, I ended up finding myself in a bit of a bind. The “comfy chair” job is ending next week. Oh, did I mention that I’m horrible at making decisions?

But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The job I had turned down happens to still be available and I’m going to take it after all. So change is in my future and I’ll make the best of it and take advantage of a new environment. I can only hope this leads to new prospects and a possible full-time job in the future.

The irony of this situation is that my primary deciding factor for not taking the new position initially was riding my bike to the location would have been more of a hassle. But now I don’t have a bike! Perhaps it was fate after all.

What do you think?

Sounds like fate is trying to tell you in as many ways possible that you need to take that other job 🙂

Lol, it’s funny that now you don’t have a bike, so it’s a non-issue. Ha! Guess fate does work out like that. Although getting your bike stolen sucks. They aren’t cheap!

    • @TB – It’s weird the way things work out. I’m completely bummed about my bike (though I am shopping for one 😉 ) but it now isn’t an issue with the location.

That sucks about the bike. Getting anything stolen always feels like a blow. Fate does work in mysterious ways though. The hard part is figuring out what it is trying to say.

    • @Miss T – It’s a strange and twisted stroke of luck in some ways. The people at the job I’m leaving are so sad to see me go, but I have a feeling everything will work out for the best.

It is always good to think positive in these situations so I say fate!

Definitely fate that’s pushing you towards the other job … it was meant to be!

    • @Paula – That’s a good description; pushing me towards that other job. Maybe there’s a better opportunity over there that I just can’t see yet.
