Recently, I came across an article that stated the Baby Boomers (those born after World War II until the early ’60’s) were born at a fortunate time in economic history. The United States was going through one of it’s most prosperous times with jobs plentiful and salaries ever increasing.
Countries with lower home ownership have lower unemployment. The study compared Switzerland in particular with 34% of their population being home owners to a low unemployment rate of 3%. The idea is that a more mobile work force can move when needed for employment.
Buying a home is a major emotional and financial investment. Many people will shop for one at least once in their lives, and they’ll be looking for something that meets their requirements, expectations, and budget constraints.
