I have a post over at Wise Bread today about investigating banks to beat the rising fees. My main focus was on using FindaBetterBank.com and how that can help narrow down banks in a neighborhood that fit a person’s banking needs.
Carnivals I was a part of this week:
- Invest it Wisely – Weekend Reading: Snow & Ice Edition
- Everyday Tips and Thoughts – Link Round Up; When Will Spring Be Here Edition (on a side note, I’m thinking warm thoughts for the mid-west and east coast. 😉 )
- Planting Dollars – Seed’s of Knowledge – It’s Cold Here Edition (See, warm thoughts, warm thoughts…)
- Wealthinformatics – Yakezie Carnival: Scholarship Edition
And a big thanks to sites referring traffic this week:

I used your link of FindbetterBank.com and was surprised to learn that my bank was one of the best. Thank you.

@Krantcents – That’s great that you used the link and you’re already at the best priced bank. I played around with FindaBetterBank.com and noticed my bank was the most expensive. However, I don’t really pay any fees so for now I don’t think I’m going to switch. Yet, if my bank does increase debit card fees (like some predictions are mentioning) I might have to switch!
Thanks for mentioning the carnival!

Will comment on actual article, but glad you wrote about this. Absolutely cannot stand commercial banks along with their above-and-beyond fees. All of our accounts are with credit unions.

@FinEngr – Chase is the reason I decided to write about bank fee increases this year. They seem to be the first to be sending out letters!
