We’ve walked our lot numerous times, but now it’s officially OUR lot, not just one we were hoping to get. At this point, our house is in the ‘queue’ at the manufacturers, so to speak. We’ve given them our down payment and signed off on the purchase order with all the upgrades we picked out. We used the schematic they sent us to measure how much area in the front we’ll have to landscape and eyeballed (using a tape measure, of course) the size of our patio behind the garage.

We estimate that we’ll be moving into our brand new home sometime between the middle of October and the middle of November, give or take a week or so. I think the October date is a bit overzealous considering the garage will take 4-6 weeks to build.

I’ll continue to post updates on the progress and hopefully even get some photos of the house being built at the manufacturers. The photo I’ve posted of the lot was taken by a neighbor in the community who photographs all the new houses that get built, it’s been extremely helpful in figuring out the time frame from start to finish. At least there’s been progress as we have piles of dirt on our lot in preparation for a retaining wall on the west side of the property.

Exciting times! Stay tuned for the next step: preparation of the lot!
